Responsible AI

Keeping people and judgement at the centre of AI adoption.

AI is developing quickly. The pressure to adopt it can move faster than an organisation's ability to understand what it is introducing, what information it is using and what could happen when the output is wrong. Inner Intelligence helps organisations decide where AI has a useful role, what safeguards it needs and where human judgement must remain in control.

Our position

The organisation already holds the intelligence that matters.

Your people understand the work, the customers, the exceptions, the history and the details that rarely fit neatly into a process map.

AI can help organise information, reduce repetition, improve access and create new ways for people to interact with knowledge. It should not be treated as a substitute for context, accountability or professional judgement.

Our role is to bring those two forms of capability together carefully: the intelligence already within the organisation and the possibilities created by AI.

In practice

What responsible use means in practice

  1. 01

    Clear purpose

We define the problem and intended use before selecting an AI feature or tool. Novelty alone is not a reason to introduce it.

  2. 02

    Proportionate use

The level of oversight and control should reflect the sensitivity of the information and the consequences of error.

  3. 03

    Human judgement

Where context, safeguarding, professional responsibility or a material decision is involved, AI should support a person rather than silently replace them.

  4. 04

    Appropriate information

We consider what information a system genuinely needs and avoid using sensitive information simply because it is available.

  5. 05

    Transparency

The people using or affected by a system should not be misled about the role AI is playing in an interaction or decision process.

  6. 06

    Ownership and review

AI enabled systems need named human ownership, clear escalation routes and ongoing review as the organisation, technology and guidance change.

  7. 07

    Practical adoption

A technically impressive tool has little value if staff do not understand it, trust it or know when not to rely on it.

Our project boundaries

Inner Intelligence reviews the suitability of every proposed AI use before agreeing a build. We may recommend a lower-risk approach, additional specialist input or no AI at all.

We do not currently build systems intended to make unsupervised safeguarding, clinical, legal, employment or eligibility decisions. We also do not build systems to hold sensitive children's case records or court-related case information.

These boundaries are part of responsible design. They are not limitations to work around.

Responsible AI services

Considered throughout
our process

Responsible AI is considered throughout our discovery and design process. We help leaders clarify the intended use, identify where human oversight is needed and decide whether AI is an appropriate part of the solution.
